Tawang, Dec 8: The district development coordination and monitoring committee also known as Disha meeting for Tawang district was held under the chairmanship of Zila Chairperson, Tawang, Leki Gombu today.
The meeting began with selection of chairman and introduction of members. In his welcome address Deputy Commissioner cum Member Secretary, DD & MC, Kesang Ngurup Damo, informed that normally the meeting of Disha is to be chaired by the respective Member of Parliament of the constituency, but due to preoccupation of the local MP he couldn't attend the meeting. He further suggested that with approval from the government and consent of the local MP if such kind of meeting can be organised at a central point of the constituency clubbing three - four districts together, this would give opportunity to officers to interact with their counterparts of other district and exchange ideas and opinion.
Speaking on the occasion ZPC Leki Gombu said that such meetings gives an opportunity to see the progress of developmental activities and also to monitor them. He appealed to all the centrally sponsored scheme implementing departments at district level to monitor, supervise and for timely completion of projects without compromising the work quality.
All concern departments gave presentations showing progress and achievements in the district and open discussion on miscellaneous developmental projects in progress was also held.
