AALO, Sep 8: A two weeklong series of Disaster Management Awareness & Mock Drill Programme began today organised by the District Disaster Management Cell & District Administration West Siang in collaboration with 12th BN, NDRF, Doimukh. During this two weeks familiarization exercise, school safety programme (SSP), community awareness programme (CAP), table top exercise and mock drill will be organized by incorporating the students & teaching faculties, panchayat elected leaders, NGOs, all district incident response team (IRT) members and other district key stakeholders. The programme started today at KV, School, Aalo, which was also addressed by DDMO Mr. Dorjee Nima where he deliberated on the preparation of School Disaster Management Plan (SDMP), Safety of students & faculty.
 The NDRF team headed by Inspector Puleshwar Lahon carried out demonstration & practical exercise of basic surface rescue techniques during time of disaster like fire, earthquake etc. and mock drill during earthquake scenario. More than 200 students and 22 faculty members have been benefited by this programme.  The programe will end on September 22 next.
