TEZU, Jul 18:

 

Two week Community Awareness Programme (CAP) on Disaster was launched at DC Conference Hall, Tezu today organized by District Disaster Management Authority Lohit in collaboration with 12th Bn NDRF Doimukh under the Chairmanship of Duyu Ribya EAC in-charge DC Lohit.

Lohit district fall under seismic V, therefore vulnerability of District to disaster is higher in comparison to other districts of the State. And, this two week long CAP from 18th TO 27th July 2017, will cover all three circles of Lohit that is Tezu, Sunpura and Wakro, District Disaster Management Officer, Damchen Norbu informed.

NDRF Team headed by Inspector Upen Ch. Nath and Sub Inspector Md. Nausad Khan gave a detail presentation on composition, role and responsibility of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in their Area of Operation (AOR).

Further the NDRF Team gave a presentation cum demonstration on Earthquake Safety, techniques of Search and Rescue, Methods of Pre Hospital Treatment (PHT) during disaster.

The team also presented drill on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Choking, Excess Bleeding, Fire Safety, Road Accident safety and Flood safety. To acquaint the students with safety tips, all the Higher Secondary and Secondary Schools of the District will be covered under the programme.
