Itanagar, Dec 31: The Arunachal Pradesh contingent for the 2nd Edition of the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 was officially flagged off today by Tadar Appa, Director Sports, during a ceremonial function held at the conference hall of the Sports Authority of Arunachal Pradesh.
The prestigious national event is scheduled to be held from January 5-10, at Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Arunachal Pradesh will be competing in Beach Soccer (Boys & Girls), Beach Tug of War (Boys & Girls), and Pencak Silat.
A total contingent of 53 members, including players, coaches, and managers, will represent the state. The team will be led by Chef de Mission Nada Apa, Sports Officer (HQ).
During the flag-off ceremony, tracksuits and kit bags were distributed to the athletes. Addressing the gathering, Tadar Appa emphasized the significance of the Khelo India Beach Games in promoting emerging sports and providing national exposure to athletes. He encouraged the players to give their best performance and bring laurels to the state.
The Director Sports also highlighted that it is a historic and proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, as the state is participating in Beach Soccer for the first time at the Khelo India Beach Games.
