KOMSING, Jul 23: The Donyi Polo Kumko at Komsing Karoh Village in Siang District was officially opened and dedicated to the Donyi Polo faith believers in a special ceremony today. The inauguration was presided over by Tapun Taki, Assistant Director of the Department of Indigenous Affairs, and Tanyup Mize, General Secretary of Donyi Polo Yenam Kebang (DPYK) Pangin Block, in the presence of a large number of Donyi Polo faith believers.
The 'Kumko' was sanctioned by the Department of Indigenous Affairs and has been constructed at a centrally located prime land in the heart of the village. The purpose behind its construction is to facilitate easy attendance for both the young and old believers during Sunday prayers and provide easy accessibility to those with ailments seeking blessings. The land for the 'Kumko' was generously donated by Smti Osi Taki without any cost.
During the inauguration ceremony, a 'Taku Tabat' ritual was performed by priest Jonggong Tali. The Donyi Polo statue and other deities were installed within the Kumko. While addressing the Donyi Polo faith believers,  Tapun Taki urged them to preserve the faith and practices of their forefathers, emphasizing the significance of following Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo's way of life. He also advised against getting influenced by external religious beliefs.
Tanyup Mize also spoke on the occasion.
