Tawang, Dec 3: Executive Director (PMD–RDSS), REC Limited, Prince Dhawan conducted a comprehensive review of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) implementation in Arunachal Pradesh during a high-level meeting held here today.
The review formed a key part of his three-day visit to the state from December 2-4 to assess on-ground progress and accelerate execution of critical distribution reforms.
Welcoming the Executive Director, RK Sharma, Secretary (Power), Government of Arunachal Pradesh, acknowledged existing challenges but urged all implementing agencies to work in close coordination to meet project deadlines. He stressed prioritising the completion of smart metering in all 42 identified towns of the state.
Namgyal Angmo, Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, expressed confidence that the review would 
help resolve bottlenecks and enhance implementation momentum. She reaffirmed the district administration’s full support in ensuring timely execution of RDSS interventions, noting the importance of such engagements for improving public service delivery.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation showcasing district-wise and component-wise progress under Loss Reduction (LR), Smart Metering (SM), and System Strengthening (SS) drew attention to achievements as well as areas requiring urgent action.
During the review, Dhawan issued several pivotal instructions to fast-track statewide RDSS progress which called for accelerating smart metering implementation across all divisions;
Resolving operational and technical issues through close coordination between field teams and departments, among other points.
Highlighting the significance of  RDSS, Prince Dhawan reiterated that strengthening distribution infrastructure is essential for improving system reliability, reducing losses, and delivering better consumer services across Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting saw participation from senior leadership of the Department of Power, including:
Er. G. Lingi, Chief Engineer (Power), CEZ & State Nodal Officer, RDSS
Er. D. Tajapodia, Chief Engineer (Power), WEZ Executive Engineers from various divisions, and representatives of 
PMAs, PGCIL, TKCs, AMISP, TPQMA, and other implementing agencies were also present. Additionally, officials from multiple districts joined virtually, enabling a unified, statewide review of progress.
REC Limited reaffirmed its commitment to providing dedicated support to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The Executive Director urged all agencies to adopt a mission-mode approach, ensuring timely, quality-driven execution of all RDSS components for a stronger and more reliable power distribution system.
