Itanagar, Jun 19: Social Justice Empowerment & Tribal Affairs (SJETA) Minister, Kento Jini, attended the launch of the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan at Banquet Hall Itanagar on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Jini said that the campaign is a historic step in realising the dream of 100% saturation of central government schemes in tribal areas. Informing that it is a massive nationwide benefit saturation campaign launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, he said that this is being celebrated across the country to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a tribal freedom fighter.
While lauding the effort of Prime Minister Narender Modi, he hoped that the department will fulfill the goals of this campaign so as to further the interests of the tribals and appealed for close coordination with concerned departments to maximize outreach and impact.
Earlier SJETA Secretary, Abu Tayeng, while welcoming the gathering, said that this campaign, which will be celebrated over a period of 30 days, is under the larger umbrella of Dharti AabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, which envisions raising awareness of individual tribal rights and key government welfare schemes, apart from other benefits. He expressed happiness while informing that 329 villages in Arunachal Pradesh have been identified under this campaign for 100% saturation.
