ROING, Jul 30:Director General of Police, Sandeep Goel today sought people’s cooperation and support to the Police department for effective policing and to bring changes in society.

 He was speaking as chief guest at felicitation programme organized by the Lower Dibang Valley District police at VKV hall here today.

 Goel, while appreciating the SP and his police team for successful operation and apprehending terrorist in Kala Pani area, he said that it couldn’t have been possible without team work. He also highlighted the role and activities of Nagrik Bhaichara Samiti Members and urged them to raise their voice against social issues like child labour, domestic violence etc so that the administration and police can take action in proper way.

Speaking on the occasion, local MLA Mutchu Mithi lauded the district Police for strict vigilance on anti-social activities in the district. Asserting that without normal law and order situation smooth development process cannot take place in the district, he called for people friendly policing. Mithi also informed that identification of site for establishment Police colony will be taken up with consultation with Deputy Commissioner of the district.

Earlier, Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kr. Sain, briefed on the achievements and activities undertaken by the District Police through power point presentation and informed that due to team work and people’s cooperation in maintaining law and order situation, criminal activities has come down in the district. He also briefed on cooperation and coordination of District Administration and other line departments in keeping the district peaceful.

ZPM Starson Saring in his address highlighted some boarder issues and status of Santipur Check gate and requested the DGP for up gradation of permanent Police station at Santipur Check gate.

Operation team and retired police personnel, Students participating in Road safety week and Operation Smile-III, Nagrik Bhaichara Samiti Members etc were felicitated on the occasion.

Among others the event was also attended by father of DC Deepak Shinde parents of SP Sanjay Kr. Sain.
