ITANAGAR, May 24:  In the wake of repeated abuses of nurses on social media, the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), Arunachal State Branch has lodged a complaint against a person named K Markio for making defamatory statement against the state’s nursing fraternity.
TNAI-AP in its complaint letter submitted to Naharlagun PS stated that the negative comment at this hour when the Covid pandemic has turned critical in the state and nurses are working day and night to save lives is condemnable. His statement has tarnished the image of the nursing fraternity as a whole and damaged the reputation of all nurses of Arunachal Pradesh, TNAI-AP’s release stated, adding that the derogatory statement is very unfortunate, demoralising and derogatory to the entire nursing profession.
TNAI-AP has sought an immediate and strong action under appropriate section(s) of the Disaster Management Act 2005 against the person.
