ITANAGAR, Jul 18: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein in an important meeting held with the heads of various departments today reviewed the status of pending Pension Cases as assured during his first meeting on Pension on May 9 last.
He urged the Heads of the Department to take the pension matters seriously and reiterated that those departments that have not yet submitted the name of Nodal Officer to look after the Pension matters to submit their names to the Department of Finance and the Directorate of Audit & Pension at the earliest. He instructed them to list out the officers & officials who are going to retire in the next two years and to complete their pension documents before 6 months of their date of retirement. He further called upon them to expedite the disposal of the pending cases of pensions.
He expressed gratitude to Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig (Dr) B D Mishra for his concern for the welfare of the retiring government employees.  He informed that because of the Governor’s initiatives and constant advise & guidance, considerable improvement in disposing  pending cases of Pension has been made.
Principal Secretary Finance, Sharath Chauhan informed that out of 1360 cases of Pension received by the Department, 1034 have been disposed off during the last 3 months from April 1 to June 31 which is a considerable improvement. He further said that it was possible because of the monitoring and support from the government at the highest level.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary Finance, Y W Ringu, Secretary, Directors and Heads of various Departments.
