Sanjoy calls for continuing CMUHIS

ITANAGAR, May 21:The 26th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, was observed with the theme “Hum Main Hai Rajiv” followed by a motor bike rally from Nyikum Niya Hall, Nirjuli which culminated at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Itanagar.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy who earlier flagged-off the rally also paid floral tributes to the late leader and addressed a mass meeting at the RG Bhawan premises.

The AICC members, APCC office bearers, APMCC, APYC, INTUC, NSUI, APCSD and party workers were present at the meeting.

Sanjoy, in his speech highlighted the history and importance of the party organization. He also recalled the significance of the sacrifices made by Congress leaders, most importantly Rajiv Gandhi and the Iron Lady - Indira Gandhi.

The APCC chief further stressed on continuing the Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme which was initiated by former CM Nabam Tuki for the benefit of the public. Sanjoy also demanded to continue the skill development programme for the unemployed youths which was initiated by the Congress government earlier, which has benefitted thousands of unemployed youths of the state.

President APYC, Jikke Tako, Chief Organiser Arunachal Pradesh Congress Seva Dal, Kipa Kaha and Spokesperson APCC, Mina Toko also spoke on the occasion on the contribution made by Rajiv Gandhi for the development of the country.
