PASIGHAT, Jun 1: Deputy Commissioner accompanied by the DMO Dr. Radesh Tatan today visited the Drugs De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center located at Jarkong village, Pasighat, to review the working of the center.
During his visit , Taggu interacted with the addicts admitted for treatment at the rehabilitation center and inquired about their health. He said that drug addiction makes a person hollow from the inside and is a huge loss of money, time and body. The DC also added that addicts who want to get rid of the habit could reach out to the drug de-addiction center where free medicines and other facilities are provided.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the Medical Officer In-charge Dr. Tani Siram and staffers on duty that the purpose of today’s visit was to review the medical and other facilities being provided at the de-addiction center. He also inquired about the staff strength stationed at the center and directed the authorities to ensure cleanliness in the de-addiction center to keep the environment healthy. During his visit, Taggu also made a social appeal that in order to eradicate the social evil of drugs we should all work together and make people more aware of the ill effects of drugs and help those who have fallen into the trap of drugs for any reason.
DMO Dr. Radesh Tatan informed that altogether ten addicts were admitted from East Siang and neighbouring districts and they were given proper medicines, regular yoga and counseling for a better future ahead.
