Yingkiong, Aug 28: The 2nd District Level Monitoring Committee meeting of Upper Siang district was convened under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang today at Yingkiong. Zilla Parishad Members, ADC (Hq) and all Head of Departments attended the meeting.
The DC reviewed the reports minutely and called upon all departments to ensure quality of works and its timely completion be maintained strictly in implementation of all CSS and state flagship programmes. During the meeting, achievements and progress of all central and state sponsored schemes implemented in the Upper Siang were discussed and reviewed. All HoDs presented ongoing works in their respective departments through Power Point presentations.
Later in the afternoon, the Deputy Commissioner also chaired a meeting of District Tourism Promotion Council, Upper Siang to discuss extension of tourist circuits/routes of the District. The DC reviewed present government approved tourist circuit that is Pasighat-Jengging-Yingkiong-Tuting and emphasized on need for exploring potential areas of Upper Siang for tourism development and extension new tourist circuit thereof. He suggested DTPC to include Mariyang, Gelling and Singa in the new tourist routes as these areas attract many tourists both domestic and international and has vast scope for further development.
