TAWANG, Jun 15: Deputy Commissioner, Tawang Sang Phuntsok today convened a meeting here at the conference hall of KDS District Hospital to review the progress of Covid-19 vaccination in the district.
Reminding the stakeholders of the target of achieving 100 % vaccination in the district, the DC emphasized on head counting of all beneficiaries based on electoral roll. Highlighting the need for identifying those who have migrated and the cases of death, the DC stressed on increasing IEC activities and asked the Medical Officers, In-charge of various health facilities and HWOs to convince those refusing to get vaccinated.
As per official figures, there are around one hundred refusals due to various reasons in Tawang district so far. ZPC Leki Gombu and the DC assured all-possible assistance in providing facilities like vehicles, manpower, fuel etc. during vaccination at the interior Covid vaccination sites. While informing that all Covid related and normal vaccination works are progressing smoothly, DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema drew attention to the shortage of manpower at health facilities due to which the concerned medical officers are finding it difficult to send updates on time and requested the DC and ZPC to spare clerical staff for the same. He further informed that vaccination coverage for the 45+ age group in the district has reached 91% and for the 18-44 slab it is 23%. The DA hopes to improve the above percentages as vaccines are available and a medical team will leave for interior Mago and Luguthang villages next week for vaccination. DMO Dr Wangdi Lama, Medical Superintendent of KDS DH and In-charges of health facilities and Health and Wellness Officers attended the meeting. DIPRO
