TAWANG, Jun 14: A coordination cum review meeting to discuss the action taken with regard to Amrit Sarovar,Har Ghar Tiranga, Nasha Mukti Pakwada, Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, International Yoga day and De-Addiction programme and its implementation in the district was held today.
Deputy Commissioner Tawang, Kesang Ngurup Damo, chaired the meeting which was attended by representatives of the army, paramilitary, administrative officers, PRI members and members from three market welfare committees.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC asked the concern departments to expedite the work and submit the report to DPDO who is the nodal officer responsible to report further to the government.
Speaking on the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative,  he said the national tricolor will be hoisted at every household and building from August 9th onwards in the district.
The DC also addressed the issue of pollution particularly plastic pollution and called for raising awareness on the matter. "Tawang is known for its natural beauty and we all together should keep up its natural beauty by giving awareness on pollution and indiscriminate use of plastic," he said.
Appreciating villagers and Head of Offices who recently destroyed wild Cannabis plants in their villages and administrative circles, he said the fight against drugs must continue to protect the younger generations. He also cautioned the public about the menace of synthetic drugs.
Earlier, Choiki Dondup, EAC Cum DPO Tawang informed that 30% of the water 
bodies in the district are to be geo tagged immediately and uploaded on MIS and the rest 70% by March next year.
The house decided that Tawang Monastery being an iconic place, shall organize International Yoga day 2022 in its courtyard in which many dignitaries are expected to participate.
