Itanagar, Jun 27: The Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar, Talo Potom convened a meeting with DDSE Capital ST Zara, headmaster, teachers and staff of Govt Middle School ESS sector and parents at the new school building today. The DC earlier during an inspection visit to the school had found that the school was in a dilapidated condition and not feasible for any kind of academic activities including accommodation of students.
During the course of his visit to the school, it was found that a new school building has been constructed and handed over to the Education department and the same was already requisitioned by the DC cum DM under section 65(b) of Disaster Management Act 2005 and accordingly the DC Cum DM vide an order U/s 144 CrPC issued yesterday( 26th June 2023) directed the DDSE Capital Itanagar and Headmaster of the school to shift the students/ classroom to the new building within 24 hrs in order to ensure safety and security of the students.
Complying with the order, arrangements were made and the entire school shifted to the new building and accordingly the DC convened a meeting today in the new school building.
During the meeting, the DC urged all the parents to keep track of their children’s activities especially studies. He said the role of a parent is equally important as a teacher in their academic life. The DC said that it is important to have regular interaction between teachers and parents to ensure that there is no compromise on the quality of education.
The parents also shared their grievances to which the DC urged the DDSE to take note of all the issues.
The parents also took part in a social service to clean the school premises.
