BOMDILA, Nov 29: In order to encourage the students and specially to promote the “Beti Padhao Beti Bachao Abhiyan",  Deputy Commissioner West Kameng Dr. Sonal Swaroop has initiated the “Bomdila: Honhar Beti Nidhi” under which meritious girl students will receive benefits.
Attending the annual day celebration of the Government Higher Secondary School, Bomdila, she launched the initiative which entails Badminton coaching, Rs 10,000  performance linked scholarship ,Free textbook and uniform till they pass class 12 for two students--Dhan Maya Rana and Mala Aglasow from Salari and Girizi village of West Kameng . 
Addressing the students, the DC said entire education system is based on a triangular participation-- the students, parents and teachers; unless coordination between the three is intact, no education system could ever succeed. She called for students to study hard especially girls as education is the only way to their empowerment, as women are not only home makers but also nation builders.
The DC also felicitated a girl student who was pursuing education despite hardships and opened a Fixed Deposit for her.
Miss Niney Moriju , a student of Class -II , GPS 1-Mile, Bomdila, who came to study all the way from remote Ditchik village despite economic challenges was spotted wearing a torn school uniform with wounded leg and torn school bag near DC bungalow, she was invited by the Deputy Commissioner during the function for the felicitation and encouragement . While mentioning about the child's dedication to studies despite hardship, Dr Swaroop said that her life should serve as a motivation to all girls. She further, offered the student a school kit along with a Fixed Deposit of Rupees Fifty Thousand .
Earlier, Service Plus, an online service which aims at hassle free issue of certificates like STC, PRC, Character Certificate and Income Certificate was launched by the DC in presence of all administrative officers and staff of the district at the DC’s Conference Hall. 
Speaking on the occasion, the DC called for dissemination of the information related to the service to every corner of the district so that everyone could take advantage of the facility. DIPRO
