PASIGHAT, Apr 12: In order to review progress of various developmental activities, the East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu during this week inspected all the ongoing projects under Smart City Mission to get first hand information on the progress and quality of the work being carried out in the township including construction of smart roads, duct pipe including street light provision, culverts, smart drainage system, pedestrian walks, kerb-stone, market area up-gradation including open air theatre for recreation purpose, smart parking system at BPGH, mini outdoor stadium in the DEMHSS field, Siang River front development, illumination of Raneghat bridge, centurion park near Siang Guest House etc., and commended the executing agencies for the progress. He was accompanied by by the CEO Dr. Manjuli Komut and Assistant Engineers.
Later today, accompanied by the PD (DRDA) Tajing Padung, EAC Nancy Yirang, DACO Monnong Tayeng and JE (PWD) AK Singh, the DC today inspected construction of the mini Secretariat building and interacted with the engineers and contractor and directed them to expedite the work without compromising on the quality. The construction agency should ensure durability and quality work, he added.
The PWD official informed the DC that the foundation stone of the Secretariat building was laid by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu on October 10, 2018. Sanction amount is rupees 25 Cr and probable date of construction is October 16, 2024 next. They also asked the DC to take appropriate action so that necessary fund for the work is released at the earliest possible.
During his inspection, the DC expressed his happiness over the progress of all infrastructural development works in the district and directed all the concerned officers to work in coordinated manner to ensure all works taken up are completed in time bound manner.
