PASIGHAT, May 25: On the direction of Principal Secretary (Home & Vigilance etc) GoAP arising out of a case filed by one Radha Kanta Tripathi, Advocate and Rights Activist at NHRC (Law Division) Manav Adhikar Bhawan, New Delhi, the Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak with ADC Ruksin T Pada, EE (PHED) Er. Bimal Welly, AEs of PHED and WRD, GBs and PRI leaders and also villagers carried out on the spot inquiry at Debing village today.

The team also inspected the headwork of the project up to Lilek Korong (River) which is about six kilometer from Debing village towards north along upstream of Debing river despite inclement weather on foot. While returning, the DC also inspected sedimentation and distillation plant of the project which has been constructed under National Rural Drinking Water Project, GoI.

Back in the village Dere, Tatak held a development cum co-ordination meeting with the GBs, PRIs, senior members of the village executing agency and officers present and directed the EE (PHED), the Nodal department cum Executing Agency  to prepare a subsidiary DPR for reconstruction of the damaged headwork of the said project and obtain necessary funds from the concerned department/ministry at the earliest and to accomplish the restoration work.

Towards this end, the DC as directed to constitute a village development committee under which village sanitation committee, village school management committee, village vigilance monitoring committee etc will function in a coordinated and synchronized manner.
