PASIGHAT, Sep 11: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani, along with health officials and members of the District Monitoring Committee inspected Drug De-addiction and Rehablitation Centres functioning in Pasighat to take stock of the facilties services and amenities and rehabilitation measures in place for the recovering inmates. Counselling support, recreation facilties, nutrition, cleanliness, hygiene, safety, security, human resource and more such parameters as per latest SOP were also reviewed during the on spot inspections of these Sudhaar Ghars.
During the visit at the government-run Sudhaar Ghar, the DC was briefed by the Incharge MO , Dr. Oson Borang that currently they are functioning at 10 bed capacity with 24 staff strength including Counsellor, Psychologist and Yoga therapist.
The recovering inmates in all the visited Sudhaar Ghars were much inspired by the encouraging words of the DC during the interactive sessions, who urged them to be changemakers and champions in society in the fight against drug abuse and create a better future by skilling and taking up higher studies and vocational courses, for which the District Administration will provide support through skill development department and other government departments.
