ITANAGAR, Jun 12:A meeting was convened by Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng with all DDSE, BEO including principals today to inquire about the details of Stipend disbursement to students including eligibility or criteria, numbers of Bank account details, Aadhaar card seeding under SSA, elementary and secondary education.
According to reports submitted, it was found out that there are 1340 students (including residential, Elementary and secondary students) eligible for stipend and except 41 students , all the rest have bank accounts with 74 % seeded with Aadhaar.
In the meeting the members present also brought to the notice of the DC about children less than 10 years who have Jan Dhan account, but couldn’t use it properly due to very low transaction limit. Also since stipend comes in installment basis, so either the account gets closed because of non transaction or the stipend amount being in lump-sum cannot be added in one go.
After carefully verifying all issues, the DC directed the concerned authority to go to each residential school to cover left out children.
