TEZU, Jun 9: A District Level Consultative Workshop for seeking inputs for the Arunachal Pradesh State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (SBSAP) was conducted today at the District Secretariat, Tezu.
The workshop was attended by ZPC, ZPMs,HGBs, GBs,CBOs, NGOs, SHGs, Head of Offices and officials of the line departments.
Ranju Dodum, WWF Senior Programme Officer and Dr. Priya Gupta WWF-India,New Delhi were the resource persons.
The Deputy Commissioner Lohit, Shashvat Saurabh, in his address stressed on the importance of biodiversity and sought effective inputs from one and all for the action plan. He asked to involve the villagers and all the stakeholders in the action plan so that the state biodiversity strategy and action plan is more participative.
All stakeholders participated in group discussion and shared their individual views about the challenges they face in protecting and conserving the environment.
Views of all the participants were duly noted which would be incorporated while formulating the State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan.
