ITANAGAR, May 29:Deputy Commissioner East Kameng, Rajeev Takuk on Monday called an emergency meeting of all the head of departments specially Power, PHED and Health after a powerful storm hit Seppa town on Sunday afternoon leaving a trail of damages. However, no human casualty was reported so far.

Many dwelling houses have been reportedly damaged in the township, and few cars were also hit by falling tree branches. Compound Wall of Deputy Commissioner’s official residence also collapsed. 

DC along with DDMO and other officials assessed the damage caused by the storm. Takuk instructed the DDMO to prepare report of loss of properties and damages caused and provide immediate relief to the affected people. He further directed the power and PHED department to work on war footing to restore power and water supply lines which were disrupted.

He further cautioned the departments to remain prepared for such natural calamities in days to come. DIPRO
