TAWANG, Dec 9: Continuing its efforts to regulate traffic congestion and minimise traffic rule violations in Tawang township, District
Administration and District Police today initiated a traffic awareness campaign for the general public here at Masang Dung Rhuemey, adjoining locations and at the recently drawn zebra crossing areas in old market.
NCC Cadets from both Boys and Girls divisions were engaged in traffic management and educating people on traffic rules and safe driving. Town Magistrate Choiki Dondup, EAC and DSP Dr.Thuptan Jambey gave awareness tips on traffic rules and dos & don’ts while driving to the taxi drivers and also requested them to be polite, honest and disciplined in their profession. Taxi drivers play a very important role in making good or bad impression of any tourist destination, so they must be good ambassadors of tourism and contribute in making our state more tourist friendly, added Dondup.
He further informed that the awareness campaign will continue for a few weeks more and after that those found violating the rules will be strictly penalized. dipro
