AALO, Jan 18: West Siang District Administration will soon locate a suitable piece of land for constructing an open air gymnasium under Khelo India programme.
The decision was taken today in a meeting held here under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi participated by the members of various sports wings of the district. The meeting also approved two sports events and three individual sports events to scout talents from the district. The DC while recalling the district’s golden days in sports said although sporting activities have come to a standstill due to dismantling of the Aalo General Ground and delay in construction of the stadium, efforts must go on to fill up the vacuum. He informed that two suitable lands offered by two individuals will be surveyed soon.
District Sports Officer Tumto Loyi disclosed that a comprehensive blueprint will soon be submitted to the Central government for approval and sanction and urged all stakeholders to help him in the venture. DIPRO
