KHONSA, May 3: A review meeting to discuss the way forward for strengthening of Covid containment measures in Tirap district was conducted here at the DC’s office today chaired by Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize and attended by high-level officials.
As suggested by Nodal Officer, COVID-19-cum-DSO (Surveillance) Dr P. Rakshit, it was decided that police personnel will be engaged for escorting the medical teams for contact tracing of Covid patients and the SP will make the necessary arrangement. To mitigate the shortage of drivers for Covid duties, EE PWD was requested to arrange the same and vehicles from the office of the DDMO will be placed at Point of Entry (POE), Hukanjuri. It was also decided that Rs.1000 will be charged for POL expenditure from POE to CCC, Khonsa and the DMO will write to the Director Health Services for appointing Sanitary Assistants at the CCC. SP will monitor the implementation of all Covid SOPs in the district and as of now Rs 8000 has been realised as penalty from the violators during the pandemic’s 2nd wave.
