PASIGHAT, Mar 13: The East Siang district administration in collaboration with the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) and Agriculture department organized “Har Ghar, Green House”, an awareness programme under the ‘Arunachal Rising Campaign’ (ARC) on March 9 last.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu said Arunachal Rising Campaign is a comprehensive publicity campaign that ushers in a positive shift through its citizen-centric approach. Such campaign empowers citizens by providing them information, guidance and accessibility to various schemes, welfare measures and flagship programmes initiated by the government in the state and as a part of ARC 2022-23, district administration this year campaigning for many welfare schemes including “Har Ghar Green House”, informed the DC. 
Arunachal is bestowed with a wide range of climatic and geographical conditions making it more suitable for growing various kinds of vegetables. But despite the climatic potentiality there are few disadvantages like heavy and prolonged rains in the district which hinders vegetable production in many parts of the district and vegetable cultivation are not pursued at its best except for few crops. This unfavourable situation can be minimized to an extent by providing green house to all under “Har Ghar Green House” scheme, asserted Taggu.
Appreciating the Dean of CHF Dr. BN Hazarika and DAO Opang Moyong and their associates for supporting the campaign, the DC stated that vegetable is the major source of minerals, fibers and vitamins in a balance diet. He advised the participants to avail optimum benefits of the campaign so that every household becomes self-reliant and self-sufficient as well as promote fresh and healthy vegetables.
Dean of CHF Dr. BN Hazarika presented a detail reports on green house and its benefits through power point presentation and assured that CHF will ever ready to extend all possible help and cooperation to the local growers to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Dr. Chandra Deo, Professor and Head of Vegetable Science and Dr. Nangsol Dolma Bhutia, Asstt Professor, Vegetable Science imparted the training on the occasion as resource persons.
