TEZU, Apr 8:  With the objective of popularising bicycling as an outdoor recreational pastime and for promoting adventure tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, Cycling Club, Jodpur has chosen the border district of Anjaw which is blessed with a high degree of biodiversity.
The team from Rajasthan comprises Renu Singh, Praduman Singh and Anubhau Sinha, the trio who have accepted the challenge. “We have arrived for the first time in this easternmost part of India and accepted the challenge of promoting adventure tourism through cycling on the tough topography and harsh landscape of Arunachal. The seven-day expedition is a kind of respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. Arunachal is blessed with a diversified culture, natural beauty and hot biodiversity and we are here to witness the treasure,” said Renu, the female member who achieved the feat of covering 1500 km in a 5-day tour on bicycle during December 2020. Flagging off the expedition, local MLA Karikho Kri said cycling is the best exercise for body and mind and the tour will allow the mainstream adventure sports enthusiasts of the country the discover the natural beauty of Arunachal. 
Among others, Director, Youth Affairs Ramesh Linggi, DSO Namsai Roy Mihu, DSO Lohit BC Das and other officials participated in the flag-off ceremony at the Circuit House.
