Doimukh, Dec 23: Continuing the fervour of Christmas celebrations, the organizing committee of Christmas celebrations at Christian Revival Church in Doimukh organized the annual friendly T-20 cricket match apart from few other games and sports competitions. 
Put to bat first, the Elders’ team piled up a huge total of 187 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 over at the RGU’s Cricket ground. In reply, the Youth-XI team was bundled out for a paltry 102 runs giving Elders-XI team a comfortable victory by 85 runs. Man of the match went to Dobam Raju of the Elders XI for his all-round performance that opened the innings and scored 63 runs and also took 3 valuable wickets with his bowling spell.  Captain of the Elders XI Techi Kutung also contributed both from his bat and ball as he scored 21 runs and scalped 3 wickets of the Youth-XI. For the Elders-XI team the other wicket taking bowlers were Likha Tagu & Tacha Ningee with 2 wickets each and Dobam Raja took one wicket. The only batsman from the Youth-XI who kept the nerves cool was Nabam Art who could score 35 individual runs.
Joint Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin during his short speech urged all to play well yet competitively and enjoy the cricket while respecting the spirit of the gentlemen’s game.
Pastor of the church Evangelist Lokam Rai, Organising Chairman of the Christmas Celebration Committee Milli Taken, Organising Secretary Tadar Taniang, Sports in-charge of the celebration committee Dobam Raju, were  all praise for the participants in their brief speeches for taking active participations with sportsmanship spirit and encouraged the players to make sports as an integral part of their life to stay fit and active. 
Post match, the players, organizing committee members and the visiting spectators in huge numbers conducted a cleanliness drive in and around the cricket ground keeping up the tempo of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
