KHONSA, Mar 3: A district level orientation programme-cum-review meeting on ‘Covid-19 Vaccination’ was held today at here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, Taro Mize. 
While urging the I/c Medical Officers of the CHCs/PHCs to encourage the targeted beneficiaries to register their names to avail Covishield vaccine free of cost at General Hospital Khonsa, the DC informed that the Department of IPR is carrying out IEC campaigns on Covid-19 vaccine on social media in different local languages to reach out to the grassroots beneficiaries. The MOs were also asked to educate the people in the Blocks to enroll their names for availing benefits under PMJAY and CMAAY for free medical treatment in and outside the district. Although appreciating the frontline health workers, Revenue Department, Tirap Police, Assam Rifles and CRPF personnel for taking the shots in the 1st phase, the DC observed that it was not up to the mark and called for more aggressiveness for achieving the target in the 2nd phase. DMO Tirap Dr. N. Lowang appealed all not to spread misconceptions about Covid-19 vaccine, reiterating the need for convincing the targeted recipients in the 2nd phase. Resource Person and DRCHO Dr. Nidak Angu gave a detailed status of Covid-19 vaccination in the district through a PPT. ADC I/c. Deomali Akan Regon, various COs DD(WCD), CDPO Khonsa, Medical Superintendent GHK, DSO (Surveillance),  MO In-charges of CHCs and PHCs were among others who attended the programme. Meanwhile, a separate orientation programme on the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Chief Minister Arunachal Arogya Yojana (CMAAY) in the district was organized today under the aegis of CMAA Society, Program Management Unit, Department of Health & Family Welfare, GoAP at General Hospital, Khonsa.
