ITANAGAR, Apr 21: In view of mounting COVID-19 cases across the state and country, health officials from Papum Pare have set up testing kiosks in all three entry points of the district namely Gumto, Hollongi and Kimin.
As per the new SOPs issued by the State Health Department, all travellers entering Arunachal Pradesh will have to go through RAT or RTPCR tests at all entry gates including Banderdewa which is under the Capital Region, informed DMO Papum Pare Dr K Perme. He further informed that the testing kiosk at Gumto check gate  has been set up on April 19 last, followed by Hollongi on April 20 and Kimin will be functional from April 22. According to the said SOPs, those who have done their testing within the preceding 72 hours of arrival and with negative result will be allowed to enter through the check gates on submission of the valid  test certificate and also those who have completed COVID vaccination. The DMO further added that asymptomatic cases are being advised for strict home isolation and those found symptomatic or with severe infection are being advised to get admitted  to the dedicated COVID Health Centre, Midpu.
Dr Perme has appealed to the denizens to follow all SOPs like social distancing, wearing masks and using hand sanitizers to avoid infection.

Highest single day spike of 73 new cases push state covid tally to 279

ITANAGAR, Apr 18: Arunachal Pradesh reported 73 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest numbers in a single day, taking the state’s active caseload to 279.
According to the daily COVID-19 bulletin released this evening, of the 73 new cases detected, 26 are in Itanagar Capital Region, 16 in Lower Dibang Valley, West Kameng 14, Papumpare 8, East Siang 3, Lohit and Changlang accounting for 2 each while Namsai and Pakke Kessang recorded 1 each.
Of the fresh cases, 47 are asymptomatic while 26 are symptomatic.
After recovery and discharge of 16 patients on the same day, the state’s total active case stood at 279.
