NAHARLAGUN, May 31:The Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) today held a peace rally at Naharlagun— from Kankar Nalah to Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Many government employees from various departments participated in the rally in protest against the broad daylight attack on the life and extortion bid on Director, Audit & Pension, Md. Abdul Basit on May 22 last.

While extending thanks to the participants, Secretary General (CoSAAP) Gonya Riba, said employees should remain united so that the anti social elements think twice before inflicting atrocities against them.

‘99% of cases of extortions are not reported to police which is encouraging them (criminals). Now, it is time to report every incident to the law keepers for timely action,’ he said while lauding the capital police for prompt action and arresting the criminals in a short period. He also acknowledged the capital administration for banning firearms with the capital complex.

Md. Abdul Basit, extended his heartfelt thanks to the capital police and administration for their prompt action which resulted in early arrest of the criminals. He also thanked CoSAAP leaders and employees for full support and cooperation during the tough time.
