ITANAGAR, Apr 12: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Thursday unveiled the "Congress Guarantee Card" during a press conference led by APCC General Secretary and spokesperson Kon Jirjo. The card outlines a series of commitments made by the party in alignment with its manifesto, aiming to address key socio-economic challenges faced by the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The announcement highlighted the five pillars of Nyay (justice) promised by the Congress party, which include Yuva Nyay (justice for the youth), Nari Nyay (justice for women), Kisan Nyay (justice for farmers), Shramik Nyay (justice for labourers), and Hissedari Nyay (justice for stakeholders), stated Kon Jirjo.
He further added that, under the Nyay framework, the Congress party pledges significant benefits for various segments of society. For educated youth, the promise entails a guaranteed first job with a one-year apprenticeship program offering a salary of one lakh rupees per month. Additionally, every woman in economically disadvantaged families is assured an annual financial support of one lakh rupees.
Moreover, the party vows to address agricultural distress by implementing loan waivers and ensuring legal recognition of Minimum Support Prices (MSP) based on the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. The commitment also extends to establishing a national minimum wage of 400 rupees per day, encompassing workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and other sectors, stated Jirjo.
The Congress Guarantee Card emphasizes the importance of conducting a comprehensive nationwide census to ensure equitable representation of individuals and communities across social and economic strata. This includes a commitment to conducting both a social and caste census to accurately assess the country's demographic and socio-economic landscape, added APCC Spokesperson.
