ITANAGAR, Mar 10 :  The Aggrieved Compassionate  Candidates under Arunachal Pradesh Police today announced that it will extend the ongoing sit-in protest after the state government failed to address its demands.
Speaking to the media,T . Padung, the spokesperson of the Core Committee of Aggrieved Compassionate Candidates under APP stated that despite three phases of peaceful protest, the state government hasn't paid heed thus compelling them to take the call.
Day by day, the health conditions of many parents who are staging dharna seeking justice for their rights are deteriorating. Even food supplies are empty now, so we will be compelled to go on a fast, he said.
The aggrieved compassionate candidates are only asking the government to absorb  all the candidates who lost their parents or spouse while serving for the state, Padung said. He also stated that the selection of 183 out of 508 candidates through home survey by the department in 2019  is unfair.
Another candidate questioned the process of selection of compassionate candidates by the Home Department. As per the criteria, the process of the home survey done by the concerned department was unfair to maximum number of candidates.
As per criteria, the concerned department selected candidates who had a disabled family member. But there were several candidates who despite having a disabled family member were not selected in 2019, another alleged.
