WAKRO, Aug 21: The District Disaster Management Authority, Lohit conducted training for 35 community volunteers in the first phase of training of 100 community volunteers in basic disaster response in Wakro circle from August 18-20.
These community volunteers were selected from various villages under Wakro Circle and were trained by the State Disaster Response Force. During the three-day training the volunteers received training on basic concepts of disaster management, disaster preparedness, earthquake, landslides, fire safety, first aid, BLS and CPR, flood, thundering & Lightning, snake & animal bite, water rescue technique, Musculoskeletal injuries and splinting etc.
The programme was inaugurated by A.J. Lungphi, ADC Wakro on August 18. On the final day DDMA Lohit distributed First Aid kits, search light, uniforms and basic kits to the volunteers.
