PASIGHAT, Sep 4: Commissioner (Urban Development, Town Planning & ULB) Pawan Kumar Sain visited Pasighat on recently to take stock of the projects being implemented under Pasighat Smart City Mission (SCM), Pasighat Municipal Council & Urban Development Department.
On day one, Sain held a review meeting which was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, ADC Oli Perme, CEO(PSCDCL Dr. Manjuli Komut, including officials and consultants.
Presentation on status of the projects of Pasighat Smart City Mission, UD&H and PMC were presented. While apprising the visiting Commissioner, Dr. Komut informed that amongst the projects 10 has been accorded the status of focused projects of the Pasighat Smart City Mission as it involves major civil works and bulk budget share and hence likely to stretch beyond December this year. She further informed that works at the respective projects sites are going at full pace and all out effort is being exerted from PSCDCL end so that all projects including focused projects get completed within the stipulated project timeline set by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.
On August 30 last, a cycle tour covering more than 15 KM to various project sites including to the Cycling track and footpath, Siang Riverfront Development, SWM & STP project sites, Smart Roads and Indoor Recreation Centre at Gumin Nagar was undertaken by the Commissioner who was accompanied by the Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar Jha, CEO PSCDCL, officers and team of projects incharge of various smart city projects.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction at the quality and the pace of implementation of smart city projects and also advised on needs for improvisation to few asymmetrical designs observed in the cycling track and skating ring of the Indoor Recreation Centre to a user friendly one. He stressed on the importance of creation of assets with less carbon footprint with more recreational and health values. He also inspected the automated multi-level Smart Car park facility, the first of its kind in the state at Bakin Pertin General Hospital and was acquainted with its operation. DIPRO
