ITANAGAR, Nov 17:

 

The Vice Chancellor of RGU, Saket Kushwaha while briefing on the provisions in Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA), urged the principals of all the affiliated colleges to be proactive in availing the benefits being offered by the MHRD, Government of India to their colleges. 

 

He was speaking to the principals of all the affiliated colleges of RGU during a round table meeting held at the University's council hall on Friday.

 

 

"HEFA has the potential of creating greater avenues for providing and promoting research and academic infrastructures in higher educational institutions and could even help in retaining bright young minds with an approach of converting brain drain to brain gain," Kushwaha emphasised.

 

A total of 34 colleges represented by their principals and in-charges attended the meeting out of 42 government and privately run affiliated colleges of RGU.

 

 He informed that HEFA is a non-profit, Non Banking Financing Company (NBFC) for mobilizing fund for higher education institutions by the central government.

 

The participating college principals and other officials were also briefed about the importance of NAAC accreditations and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of institutions and the conduct of training and workshops pertaining to it. 

Brief reports on scope of starting other new courses and academic programme, condition of library and laboratory facilities in the colleges and scope of their improvement, and issues pertaining to the smooth conduct of University examinations and Central Evaluation, timely dissemination of data and good practices in colleges were also presented and discussed.

 

 Among others, Registrar in-charge Prof. Tomo Riba, Director IQAC Prof. Amitava Mitra, Joint Registrar (Academic & Conference) cum Controller of Examination in-charge Dr. David Pertin, Director College Development Council Prof. Nabam Nakha Hina were present in the meeting.
