ITANAGAR, Aug 30: Concerned over the prevailing situation, Chief Minister Pema Khandu has reassured the people that the Lower Siang district issue is being taken up in right earnest.
“The report submitted by Group of Ministers headed by Food & Civil Supplies Minister on Lower Siang will be placed in the next cabinet meeting scheduled on September 22 next for decision,” Khandu said in a statement today.
The Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) Bill 2013 was passed by the State Assembly and the same was notified in March 2014. The State Government is sincere in its effort in making the district functional at the earliest possible, CM said.
He meanwhile appealed the citizens to maintain peace and tranquility in the area and be patient.
