ITANAGAR, Feb 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while participating in the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today, highlighted key achievements of the State Government, including 2.6 times growth in GSDP, fivefold increase in State Own Resources, and 3.5 times expansion of road length. The motion was moved by MLA, Tezu Dr. Mohesh Chai.
The Chief Minister applauded Hollongi (Donyi Polo) Airport, Itanagar, for being conferred the Best Airport of AAI under the RCS–UDAN Scheme, and said Arunachal Pradesh has been recognised as a Best Performer in the Startup Ranking Framework 2024. He said initiatives such as Seva Aapke Dwar and Cabinet Aapke Dwar have strengthened decentralised governance. He also applauded the Nyishi community of Kamle, Kra-Daadi and Kurung Kumey districts for extending unanimous support to the Kamla Hydropower Project, which was cleared in a single public hearing.
The Chief Minister informed that 1.6 lakh families have been enrolled under the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY), with ₹150 crore spent on treatment of about 70,000 patients. He noted a 100 per cent increase in tourist inflow and stated that Arunachal Pradesh ranks second in the North East in sports performance.
During question hour, Minister for Environment & Forests Wangki Lowang said CAMPA fund allocation to districts, including Kra-Daadi, is made as per prescribed guidelines, while answering the supplementary question put forward by MLA Jikke Toko on fund distribution system for CAMPA especially pertaining to fund allocation for Kra Daadi District.
While answering to MLA Vivek Nabam whether ICR is an independent District, Minister for Urban Affairs Balo Raja clarified that the Itanagar Capital Region is not an independent district and functions under existing administrative provisions.
Minister for Transport Ojing Tasing said grievances of District Transport Officers have been taken cognizance of and eligible officers are being granted financial upgradation under MACP while replying to MLA Borduria-Bogapani Wanglin Lowangdong.
Minister for Rural Works and Education, Pasang Dorjee Sona informed that restoration proposals for damaged PMGSY roads in Nyapin are being processed while replying to MLA Tai Nikio on 80% road damage due to heavy monsoon rainfall under 19- Nyapin Assembly Constituency in the last two years.
The Minister further informed recruitment for Government Engineering College, Tezu is underway through APPSC.
The House also passed three Bills, namely The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (Amendment) Bill, 2026, The Arunachal Pradesh Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, and The Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
