ITANAGAR, Aug 8:Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed concern over the fire accident that took place in Nerba Colony here on Monday morning, which reportedly gutted down about 9 houses including two motorcycles.
Assuring to take all measures to rehabilitate and compensate the loss, the CM said ‘The concerned department and the district administration have been issued necessary instructions to take up immediate relief activities and make assessment of all the losses.’
Khandu appealed all sections of society to rise to the occasion as they always did to help the unfortunate victims through contributions in cash and kind.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has announced ex-gratia relief of Rupees four lakhs each to the next of kin of late Tashi Ngurup Auas Natoka of Lhoudung Village, Tawang who drowned recently at Tawang and Aloko Borang and Biky Pertin, the two JNV students who drowned on July 27 last. The third student namely Abraham Lipir is still missing.
Khandu reiterated his grave concern on repeated fire mishaps and drowning cases and asked the department concern to find out ways to prevent such occurrences besides creating awareness and sensitizing people.
