ITANAGAR, Apr 1: The Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) PC-Hub, Arunachal Pradesh, successfully organized a Cleanliness cum Plantation Drive at Don Bosco College, Jollang, Itanagar. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability among students and faculty members.
Recognizing the vital role of a clean environment and education in societal progress, the EIACP team, led by Dr. Anjan Chamuah, Programme Officer, engaged students in an interactive session on the importance of maintaining cleanliness for societal and economic well-being. Dr. Chamuah also emphasized the alignment of the initiative with Mission LiFE and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event witnessed participation from several EIACP officials, including Tanu Siram (Information Officer) and Ani Dai (Data Entry Operator). Additionally, representatives from the State Climate Change Cell (SCCC), Arunachal Pradesh—Ms. Dani Yaming, Dr. Aribam Rocky Sharma, and Tok Rangka—also contributed to the initiative.
Don Bosco College extended full support to the event, with Dr. (Fr.) Jose George, Principal, actively participating
alongside faculty members Ms. Binnya Matey (Coordinator, Eco Club) and Ms. Bomrik Gadi (Coordinator, Green Alliance), as well as administrative staff and students. Their collective efforts underscored the importance of environmental responsibility within the academic community, stated a release.
