ITANAGAR, July 23: Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) today began a seven day long sit-in protest at the Tennis Court here in the state capital Itanagar which will continue till July 29 next. The civil society organization has accused Chief Minister Pema Khandu of being involved in multi crore scams in various departments and is demanding his immediate resignation.
Speaking to reporters, President AAC, Tarh Tahar demanded the immediate step down of Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his alleged involvement in the corruption charges. 
"Chief Minister Pema Khandu is keeping the public in the dark by siphoning crores of funds from different projects," Tahar said. 
The AAC has stated that CM Khandu is being involved in scams worth hundreds of crores in schemes such as the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana and Deen Dayal Updahyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, scams in departments such as panchayat raj, power department, hydropower project and also the misuse of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority.
"A case had already been filed for misappropriation of funds before the Supreme Court and the PIL against misappropriation of funds under Power Department. Central government pumps crores of funds but all of these are being misused by the state government," he said.
More than Rs. 142 crore under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana was misused by the Pema Khandu led government by distributing the funds only in three districts Namsai ,Tawang and Bomdila. Fake bank accounts were produced to siphon off funds, even no e-tender was conducted, he added.
Arunachal Against Corruption has also sought inquiry on the Hydropower scam, where crores of funds were siphoned off in the name of upfront money.
"We demand a free and fair investigation from the CBI against the Chief Minister to unearth the truth," said Tarh Tahar.
