DC inaugurates school amenity
Itanagar, Nov 20: The District Administration and WCD Department of Papumpare District in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Itanagar, District Medical Office, Itanagar Capital Region and Taekwondo Association of Arunachal celebrated the Child Right’s Day at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Itanagar today under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.
Deputy Commissioner, ICR, Talo Potom while inaugurating the programme shared motivational insights, highlighting how diligence, discipline, and perseverance can lead to success.
He further advised the students to avail the benefits provided by the central and state government through various departments.
Smti Jaya Taba, Deputy Director, District ICDS cell Yupia, in her keynote address highlighted the programmes under BBBP scheme and its benefits.
Informing that “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” is a central scheme, especially launched to save, educate and guide the girl child to make them strong enough to build a balanced society, she exhorted the girls to avail the benefits of the program.
While highlighting the provisions under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act-2012 (POCSO), Domestic Violence Act-2005, she further urged all not to tolerate any form of violence against women and girl child even within their family and relatives.
She further urged all to seek assistance from the concern authorities by dialing Child Help Line 1098 which is available 24×7 as and when required.
Later, karateka Miss Amini Laa, who is also the BBBP Brand Ambassador of Papum Pare District and Miss Khinsan Wangsu imparted Self-Defense Training to 60 students of KV No. 2, Itanagar.
