ITANAGAR, Nov 15: Taking Suo-Moto cognizance of the sexual assault and attempt to rape case of two minor students by the hostel warden at a government school in Shi Yomi District, a two-member team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR), visited the school and conducted a preliminary inquiry into the case.
The two-member team comprising Ngurang Achung and Jumtum Minga visited the Government Residential School, Karo and conducted the inquiry from November 10 to 12 last. During the inquiry, incriminating depositions of the children were recorded attracting several provisions of POCSO Act, 2012 IPC and IT Act, 2000. The statements of the victims, investing officer of the case and two youth leaders were also recorded.
The DCPO, CWC Shi Yomi District, Counsellor DCPU Aalo, APWWS Shi Yomi District. Women Welfare Society Karo, Panchayat leaders (ZPC), GBs, school authorities, Bokar Student Union, Adi Bane Kebang and public were also present.
The Commission will be submitting a detailed inquiry report soon.
