Itanagar, Dec 8: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners of Pakke Kesang, Shi Yomi and Kamle Districts to test the BBNL VSAT System which was recently installed there.
The video conference went by without any signal glitch. However, it is feared that certain weather conditions may hamper the signal quality of the VSAT signal.
The Chief Secretary directed the IT department and telecom service and infrastructure providers to explore better technologies which can enhance the signal quality of the VSAT.
With a resolve to realise the ambitious dream of Digital Arunachal, VSATs will be installed in 882 locations for last mile connectivity even in the remotest corner of Arunachal Pradesh.
More than 50% VSATS have been installed in various locations across the state including government schools and health facilities.
Secretary IT Anirudh S. Singh, Special Secretary IT Shashvat Saurabh, Dilip Siram Sr. GM BSNL, representatives from the TCIL were present.
