ITANAGAR, Sep 23: The meeting of the Distribution Reforms Committee of the State constituted under the  Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) of Power sector was held today at Itanagar under the chairmanship of Dharmendra, the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Committee deliberated on the various aspects of the two components of the RDSS namely  the Action Plan and the Detailed Project Report prepared by the  Department of Power.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of digitization in the distribution of power. He directed the Department of Power to take this opportunity to reform the Power Distribution system in the State by reducing the Aggregate Technical and Commercial Losses by improving the billing and collection efficiency and by the use of smart meters equipped with Advanced Metering Infrastructure. 
He suggested the use of 4G enabled communication technology which is compatible with any telecommunication network service provider, so that all the electricity consumers of the State avail the benefits of Reforms in the power sector.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need of strengthening the distribution infrastructure and updation of technology.
After thorough discussions, the Committee approved the Detailed Project Report and the Action Plan.
Dr. Sharat Chauhan, Principal Secretary (Finance, Evironment & Forests), K B Singh Additional PCCF, A. Chagti Secretary (Land Management), Ajay Kumar Bisht Secretary Power, the  Chief Engineers (Power),  Jai Karan from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, and others attended the meeting.
