Naharlagun, Apr 9: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) has formally launched and screened its official documentaries in a formal ceremony at auditorium of Gauhati High Court, Itanagar Permanent Bench, Naharlagun.
Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court & Patron-in-Chief of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority virtually launched the official four documentaries short films produced by Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA). The documentaries include Nayi Subah on drug abuse, Umeed Ki Kiran on POCSO-related issues, Roshini Ki Kiran on domestic violence, and Unheard Voices highlighting abuse of the elderly.
Also  presence was Justice Sanjay Kumar Medhi, Judge, Gauhati High Court  & Executive Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh SLSA, Justice Kardak Ete, Judge, Gauhati High Court & Chairman of Gauhati High Court Legal Services Committee, ItanagarBench, Advocate General, Addl. Advocate General, Secretary (Justice)-cum- Legal Remembrancer, among others.
In his welcome address. Yomge Ado, Member Secretary, APSLSA, highlighted the significance of the documentaries as a medium to connect legal services with the people and spread awareness about National Legal Services Authority’s objective of “Access to justice for All”.
The Executive Chairman, APSLSA, while addressing the gathering emphasised that short films serve as powerful tools for legal literacy and social awareness. Through compelling storytelling and real-life contexts, they aim to educate citizens about their legal rights, promote sensitivity towards vulnerable sections of  society, and encourage timely access to legal remedies. By simplifying complex legal issues into relatable narratives, such documentaries bridge the gap between law and the common public, making justice more accessible and understandable.
The Chief Justice in his keynote address, underscores the importance of innovative outreach initiatives such as short films in strengthening public engagement with the justice delivery system. Dr. Hirendra Kashyap, District & Sessions Judge & Chairperson of District Legal Services Authority, Papum Pare in his vote of thanks expressed his gratitude to all for grand success of the event.
The launch of the Arunachal Pradesh SLSA documentaries marks a significant step towards enhancing public awareness and reinforcing the commitment of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority to ensure justice for all.
