Itanagar, Mar 21: Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh, Pawan Kumar Sain on Thursday held a meeting with all the political parties to discuss various issues pertaining to Simultaneous Assembly and Parliamentary elections.
Chairing the meeting at Nirvachan Bhawan, the CEO highlighted the progress of model code of conduct (MCC) enforcement in the state like seizure of money and other valuable items seized at Naka/check gate, etc. requesting all stakeholders to adhered of ECI guidelines. List of Dos & Don'ts for the guideline of candidates and political parties to be observed from the announcement of an election and until the completion of the process of election was circulated in the meeting to all the representatives of political parties. Political parties raised some of their concerns such as swearing of affidavit, security of candidates, permission for vehicles and political activities in the state and enforcement of MCC. 
The CEO mentioned that in order to minimize their difficulties, the CEO office has sought approval for exercise of Judicial Magistrate power by Executive magistrate namely ADC, SDO, EAC & CO in administering swearing of affidavits for filling nominations during Simultaneous Elections, 2024. CEO explained to all representatives in detail about the Expenditure unit, Affidavit, Criminal Antecedents, Permits for vehicle and Media certification and monitoring committee (MCMC) etc. He also highlighted that a Senior officer Toko Babu  has been deputed to work as Public Relation Officer and will be available in the CEO office to meet all concern and to provide any clarification. Regarding security of candidates, CEO informed that security of any protectee or candidate cannot be compromised during election and security review committee headed by Chief Secretary will look into security coverage to entitled public functionaries. He categorically clarified that State Police will provide pilot and escort with security personnel to protected person as per the ECI guideline.
State Nodal Officer for MCC, R.K.Sharma, illustrated an advisory to political parties on plummeting level of public discourse during campaigning and expected decorum by political parties and candidates in general and also highlighted the Dos and Don'ts guidelines of the candidates and political parties which are in force from the announcement of an election and until the completion of the process of election. He also highlighted all the directions of ECI on the subject of Criminal antecedents. State Nodal Officer for Law & Order, VM & Security, Anant Mittal, IPS, informed that all the political party representatives may lodge a complaint online at C-vigil or Helpline number 1950 with verified allegations/factual data if any, to reach at logical conclusion.
A meeting was attended by representatives from all the political parties viz BJP, NPP, NCP, INC, GSP, ADP and JD (U).
