BHALUKPONG, May 26:DGF & Special Secretary MoEF & CC, GOI, New Delhi, IFS, Shiddhanta Das in his visit to the state today arrived at Bhalukpong, West Kameng and held a review with the senior Forest Officer of the state led by IFS, PCCF & Principal Secretary (E & F), Omkar Singh.
During the meeting, the DGF was apprised by Singh about various activities of the Forest Department of Arunachal and issues requiring attention of the MoEF & CC, GoI were raised.
Prominent among the issues raised were enforcement of Forest Protection Force and Eco Task Force in border areas of the state.
Later, the DGF also paid visit to the Orchid Research and Development centre (ORDC), Tippi and got a first-hand information about the Orchid diversity of the State and the efforts being made in by the Forest Department for conservation and preservation of orchid and the works being taken by the ORDC in this direction.
DGF was accompanied by IFS, DG, ICFRE, Deradhun, S. C Gairola, and Senior officer of the state including G.N Sinha, IFS, PCCF (WL&BD), Dr. CM Rao, IFS,APCCF (Industry & CAMPA), R.K Singh, IFS, APPCF, Western circle Banderdewa etc .
A ceremonial tree planting was done by the dignitaries at the ORDC, Tippi.
