DC inaugurates school amenity
NAHARLAGUN, Jul 29:
Giving due recognition to the meritorious students, sportsperson and other achievers of Pipu and Gyawepurang circle under East Kameng district, the Pipu Gyawepurang Social Organisation (PGSO) on Saturday felicitated students of class X, XII, BA and achievers in other fields.
Speaking on the occasion, PGSO chairman, Raya Flago, said that dreams cannot be fulfilled unless they are combined with effort and hard work.
He advised the students to imbibe values of education, behavioral science and hard work while pursuing education which is the only medium through which one could dream of a better future.
Emphasizing on the importance of education, he called upon the students to study hard saying that education is the panacea of all evils through which one could establish his identity.
“Being educated, you can contribute in development of Pipu and Gyawepurang circle in particular and East Kameng district as a whole.
Highlighting, the main objective of PGSO which is to work for the upliftment of socio-economic development, Flago further informed that the two circles, established years back is lagging in developmental activities as there is no proper road connectivity and water supply system in comparison to other circles of the state.
Pointing out that due to problem many brilliant students of the two circles could not go for further studies, Flago announced that from next session PGSO would provide scholarship assistance to the students.
The students which were felicitated during the programme includes, in class X category (2016-2017 session) Karan Rigam, Dadung Cheda, Sarda Cheda, Pongmak Cheda, Ruju Jilly, Kojam Dada, ClassXII (Hum) Sunita Tabri, Bukhe Lamgu, Class XII (Science) Rima Rigam and Longmi Gyadi.
The achievers in the entrance tests include, Riba Gyadi (MTech), Tado Gyadi (MTech), Amnila Gyadi (MBA).
In the graduate category, the students who were felicitated in BA (Hons) include, Tachung Lochung, Ralung Doka, Julai Dangni and Yaming Lamgu.
Nickey Tabri was felicitated for securing first position in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
In the sports category, Yami Gyadi (for winning gold medal in Karate), Jakap Flago (gold medal in Karate) and Mamoni Taniang (silver in Table Tennis).
In the excellence category, Flago was felicitated for achieving golden silver in government service and filmmaker, Chopa Cheda, for producing films like “Mwngkar” and ‘Kharabter’.
Movie maker Shambo Flago and actor of the film Mwngkar, Pankaj Flago, were also felicitated for their achievements.
